What is arts education IDEAS
IDEAS is a multifaceted organization dedicated to educational excellence
in and through the arts. Specializing in integrated and arts-infused literacy
curriculum, we provide consulting, publishing, and educational tools and
toys. Our mission is to enhance the lives of children and their grownups
in deep and meaningful ways.

Dr. Susan Snyder heads the clinician roster.
Publications
We publish high quality texts and media products related to integrated
curriculum, arts-infused curriculum, early literacy, and music/arts education.
Our authors include Dr. Susan Snyder and master teachers from across the
United States. Publications bridge the gap between theory and practice,
and are designed to have immediate use in homes and classrooms. Among
the available products:
- Integrate with Integrity has become the guide for arts-infused
curriculum development across the country.
- Total Literacy binders provide theory and model units for arts-infused
literacy for early childhood, emergent, and early readers through
Grade 5. Many have accompanying CDs and art prints. Our Total
Literacy Anytime Video Suite brings professional development to
those who cannot arrange in-person workshops, or to support and
reinforce professional development experiences.
- Music Memory brings quality classical music experiences into
classrooms from Grades 3-6, with 16 new pieces presented in a
visual/auditory format every year. Music Memory is created in
cooperation with Texas University Interscholastic League and PSIA,
and the Riverside, NY Symphony Orchestra.
- Other individual titles are available in the Store.
Educational Tools and Toys
We create open-ended educational tools and toys, including the popular
IDEAScarves, which are available in a range of sizes and color combinations.
Parents and educators in the fields of music, movement, dance, early childhood,
literacy, and drama use these scarves. We also produce quality recordings,
CD-ROMs, and art kits.
